Ten years after the launch of the popular Vario 5, Easyrig has developed a lighter, more nimble version to meet the demands of today’s filmmaking environments. 

The Vario 6 is 20% lighter than the Vario 5, while still maintaining the durability and reliability that professionals expect. Designed for cameras weighing between 4–14 kg (9–31 lbs), it is perfectly suited for modern setups, from compact digital cinema cameras to fully rigged handheld systems. 

For reference, an ARRI ALEXA 35 Xtreme weighs about 5 kg with a prime lens, battery, and accessories, while a Sony VENICE 2 in a similar configuration comes in at around 6 kg.

With its sleek new design and a completely redesigned power pack mechanism, the Vario 6 allows users to adjust the tension of the suspension line themselves — even while wearing the rig. Simply turn the knob on the back to perfectly match the support to your camera package, ensuring comfort and control without assistance. 

The Easyrig Vario 6 is fully compatible with all previous Easyrig vests, making it easy to upgrade an existing system. Operators only need to purchase the support bar to retrofit, and any Easyrig upper arm can also be attached. 

Despite these upgrades, the Vario 6 does not replace the Easyrig Vario 5, as both serve different purposes within the Easyrig lineup.
