Sony CBK-3620XS VENICE Extension System 2
Sony CBK-3620XS VENICE Extension System 2

Sony CBK-3620XS Realto VENICE Extension System 2 The [CBK-3620XS] is increasing the flexibility compared with [CBK-3610XS] as customers are now able to use both sensors with even more distance between the sensor and the body. This will add the possible usage also on cranes which have been limited before. This model is able to support all features of VENICE 2 and will expand the creativity of DoPs. Shooting a scene handheld with an impossible sense of freedom comparable to a stills camera. Revolutionizing aerial photography with an array of three cameras inside a jet fighter’s cockpit. The original VENICE Extension was created out of a partnership with a director demanding impossible flexibility for a 3D shoot where there could be no compromise in image quality. The innovative cabled separation of the image sensor and camera body meant cinematographers no longer needed to compromise their vision. Its compact size allowed DoPs to fit truly cinematic lenses and achieve their preferred look in every scene. Key features Supports VENICE2 8K high quality images (Compatible with VENICE2-8K/VENICE2-6K/VENICE) 2 new cable lengths, 12m & 3m no repeater necessary (both cables are included in the CBK-3620XS) Tilt/Roll sensor built-in 3 more assign buttons (4 in total for VENICE2) Unique technology Second Generation EnhancementsIncorporating customer feedback and developed alongside VENICE 2, the VENICE Extension System 2 (CBK-3620XS) offers a wider bandwidth to support the VENICE 2 with an 8K sensor, over twice as much cable distance (up to 12 m) without a repeater box, additional control buttons and a built-in gyro sensor. It once again expands the realms of possibility for cinematography. The new Extension System is fully compatible with VENICE 2 using the 8K or 6K sensors, while also supporting the original VENICE camera with extended 12-m cable length. The Extension System also has an HD-SDI output and a 24-V output for powering accessories such as lens servo motors and monitoring. Multiple screw holes on all surfaces make it easy to accessorize and fit on to a wide variety of rigs while the main weight of the camera can be supported elsewhere. There’s no need for a smaller, lighter B-camera for extreme shooting scenarios. You can shoot everything with one modular camera system.   DetailsIdeal for shooting in tight spaces and with gimbalsThe Extension System camera head measures 158 × 147 × 126 mm (H × W × D)*, weighing around 2.2 kg* with a PL mount adapter and 1.7 kg* with E mount when used with the VENICE 2 8K sensor block. The separated sensor block with lens is so small and light it allows for an easy handheld mode, enabling you to locate it in tiny spaces, keeps stabilization systems lightweight, allows use of larger lenses while maintaining a smaller profile, facilitates faster operation for motion-control rigs, use of body mounts, and other situations that you wouldn’t expect possible for a full-frame cinema camera. The creative freedom without any image compromise is boundless.Extends up to 12 meters without a repeaterThe original VENICE Extension System could reach a maximum extension of 5.5 m between the camera head and body. The VENICE Extension System 2 more than doubles that with transmission distance up to 12 m. The original also needed a repeater to connect the middle of the cable between the head and body to reach 5.5 m. The CBK-3620XS extends to 12 m without a repeater. This enables greater freedom of movement and expands the range of shooting possibilities, particularly when used with a crane. The CBK-3620XS also offers both 3-m and 12-m cables. Simply choose the best one for your needs.Gyroscopic support with recording to metadataWhile shooting with the original Extension System did not accommodate use of a spirit level indicator (gyroscope sensor), the CBK-3620XS is equipped with a sensor on the camera head side that detects horizontal and vertical tilt. This allows use of a spirit level indicator and spirit level gauge graphical indicator on the camera's main monitor, even when shooting with the CBK-3620XS. Camera head tilt information can be checked when shooting at different head and tilt angles – ideal for VFX applications. Naturally, the horizontal and vertical tilt are also recorded in the metadata and output through the camera’s SDI.4 assignable (ASSIGN) buttons on camera head for easy operationThe camera head has four ASSIGN buttons that can be set to functions such as change ND filter settings, REC Start/Stop and more for easier operation with VENICE 2. Full-frame creativityRealize beautiful 4K imagery with the creative freedom made possible by oversampling a huge high resolution full-frame sensor. Capture every detail from the scene with shallow depth of field and stunning bokeh for a truly cinematic look. 15+ stops of dynamic range and Dual Base ISO enable you to capture every nuance, from subtle shadow detail to specular highlights, with an immaculate color palette. Capturing the impossibleMake sure your story’s always clear with enhanced Fast Hybrid AF that tracks your subject with unprecedented speed, smoothness, and precision. Its impact is transformative for premium documentary, commercial, and event applications. Your ability to precisely capture your subject’s expression is further enhanced with Sony’s unique Eye AF.**Ver2.0 is required. 6K Full-Frame "Exmor R" sensor for stunning picture qualityThe camera’s full-frame 6K sensor provides superb recording in DCI 4K*, Ultra HD, and HD resolutions. Powerful image processing with debayering and oversampling ensures image quality beyond the limits of conventional Super 35-mm sensors. The back-illuminated CMOS image sensor also uses Sony’s Exmor R technology for improved sensitivity and noise reduction. Compared to a 4K Super 35-mm sensor, the FX9’s 6K sensor has over twice the surface area while providing a wider angle of view and shallower depth of field.  *DCI 4K (4096 x 2160 at 17:9 recording)  requires Ver.2.0 or higher firmware. Dual Base ISO for stunning images in any lightThe FX9 features a base sensitivity of ISO 800, providing the optimal dynamic range for typical documentary applications such as shooting outside or in brightly lit interiors. A secondary High Base sensitivity of ISO 4000 excels in low-light conditions such as early morning and evening shoots while maintaining superb image quality. ISO 4000 is also ideal when using slow lenses. Combining Dual Base ISO with the camera’s electronic variable ND Filter provides superb creative control in almost any shooting environment, with truly next-generation responsiveness to changing conditions.  *ISO 800 and ISO 4000 are used in S-Log3, Cine EI mode. Selectable Frame Rates in Both Full-Frame & Super 35 Choose your desired frame rate from 1fps up to 180fps* for impressive quick- and slow-motion footage. FX9 creates an immersive image with a wide-angle look and shallower depth of field provided by its full-frame sensor in combination with quick and slow motion. Engage your audience with this new creative look. FX9 also offers a Quality priority setting** that maximizes full HD image quality using full-frame 6K scan mode or Super 35 4K scan mode with advanced oversampling technology.  Super 35 2K imager scan mode prioritizes frame rates, so image quality may be reduced depending on the shooting environment. In this instance, the settings below are recommended. Cine EI mode: Set EI gain lower and exposure level higher instead Custom/SDR mode: Choose the gamma category setting of Original (S-Cinetone) or STD (STD1 to 6)  · *Up to 120fps with Ver1.0. Full-HD 180fps requires Ver.2.0 or higher firmware. · **In full-frame scanning mode: selectable at 1–30fps/in super 35 scanning mode: selectable at 1–60fps.
